Walking from Dalmaji-gil to a Hillside Stay in Haeridan-gil (50–60 min)
Most people think Dalmaji-gil is a place you visit by car, but it actually works very well as a walking route.
On this day, I walked from a café on Dalmaji-gil, down into inner Haeundae, passed near Haeunjeongsa Temple, and finished at a small hillside guesthouse above Haeridan-gil.
It’s simple, quiet, and easy to follow without a car.
1. Starting the route at a café on Dalmaji-gil
![]() |
I began the walk at a café along the main slope of Dalmaji-gil.
This area is easy to access by bus, and most cafés sit right along the walking route, so starting here feels natural.
A slow coffee helps set a comfortable pace before heading down toward Haeundae.
2. Downhill walk from Dalmaji-gil toward Haeundae
Leaving the café, the road slopes gently down toward Haeundae.
It looks steep on the map, but in reality the road is straight and easy to follow with almost no turns.
After about 6–8 minutes, the route naturally shifts into the inner Haeundae area.
3. A local walking route across inner Haeundae
Once you reach the bottom, you’ll see the LCT towers ahead.
From that point, searching “Haeundae Madangzip” on the map reveals a path locals often use to walk across Haeundae.

This flat route passes:
→ near Emart
→ Jung-dong Station
→ Haeundae Station
It’s a comfortable section where you can walk and talk without any effort.
The balance of small shops, homes, and quiet pockets makes it an easy mid-route segment.
4. From Haeundae Station to Haeridan-gil and toward Haeunjeongsa
From Haeundae Station, Haeridan-gil is about a 7–8 minute walk.
The road is simple, and you rarely need to check navigation.
Haeridan-gil is lined with cafés and restaurants, and it works well as the route’s natural
“break point” if you want to pause and rest.
5. The short uphill toward Haeunjeongsa
At the end of Haeridan-gil, turning right brings you toward Haeunjeongsa.
The slope is short and direct, easier than it looks on the map.
-
Distance: approx. 400–500m
-
Turns: almost none
-
Feeling: gentle uphill, manageable even at a slow pace
6. Final segment — a quiet residential hill toward the stay
The last part of the walk passes through a quiet residential zone.
It contrasts nicely with the livelier parts of Haeundae and creates a calm finish.
This kind of quiet ending is surprisingly important for walking routes—it’s the moment when your pace settles and the day slows down.
