1. Starting the walk at Dongbaekseom
Park your car at the Dongbaekseom public parking lot and start walking along the coastal path.
Dongbaekseom is one of the quieter places to begin a walk in the Haeundae area, and the parking lot is directly connected to the walking trail, which makes access very convenient.
The path does not run directly along the main beach, so the area tends to be less crowded.
The trail combines coastline views with trees and rocky cliffs, creating a calm walking environment.
Most of the internal paths are flat with gentle curves, making it easy to slow down and walk at a relaxed pace.
2. Haeundae Beach section – a straight, open walk
After leaving Dongbaekseom, the route naturally connects to the Haeundae Beach promenade.
This section opens up visually, with wide views of the sea and a clear horizon line between the ocean and the sky.
At night, the area becomes noticeably quieter than during the day, and you can enjoy Haeundae’s night scenery at a slower pace.
During the daytime, you can also walk straight from Dongbaekseom along the coast, enjoying the blue sea and well-maintained paths before heading toward Blue Line Park.
Along the way, there are plenty of cafés and restaurants near the beach, making it easy to stop for a short break, a meal, or a cup of coffee if needed.
3. Route from Haeundae to Mipo Blue Line Park
Walking along Haeundae Beach, the route naturally leads toward Blue Line Park in the Mipo area.
From Mipo Station, there are three main ways to continue the journey:
-
Take the beach train from Mipo Station
-
Ride the Sky Capsule
-
Walk along the coastal path
Each option offers a different pace and experience.
The Sky Capsule takes longer, while the train moves relatively quickly through the scenery.
If walking feels manageable, continuing on foot allows you to enjoy the views more slowly and makes it easier to talk with friends or family along the way.
Blue Line Park runs along a coastal railway from Mipo to Cheongsapo.
The walking path runs alongside the tracks, so whether you choose to walk or take the train depends entirely on your preference.
The combination of sea views and the coastline makes this section especially memorable.
4. From Cheongsapo Station to Daritdol Observatory
The final stop on this route is Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory.
The observatory has a glass floor, which can feel a bit intimidating if you are not comfortable with heights.
Standing above the transparent panels can be surprisingly nerve-racking, and the sensation of looking straight down stays with you for a while.
If you walk without long breaks, reaching this point usually takes around two hours in total.
From here, there are three main options to finish the trip:
-
One person can take a taxi or bus back to Dongbaekseom to retrieve the car while others rest at a nearby café. The taxi fare back to Dongbaekseom is usually around 10,000 KRW.
-
Walk back along the same route in reverse. The path is pleasant in both directions, and Cheongsapo has many cafés where you can rest before heading back. Seafood restaurants, including grilled clams, are also popular in this area.
-
If you want to continue walking, you can keep going past the observatory, as the path eventually connects toward Songjeong and beyond.
